The microphone is available in two versions:
The 4099 CORE+ microphone, which has a red mark on the gooseneck to indicate its high sound pressure level tolerance, is used for close miking of most acoustic instruments, from harps to drums and everything in between. With CORE+ technology, the microphone can handle a maximum sound pressure level of 145 dB before clipping occurs.
The 4099 CORE+ microphone with extreme sound pressure level (SPL) capability (yellow mark on the gooseneck) is designed for close miking of extremely loud instruments, such as drums and some brass instruments. It will be available from late 2025. It is designed for use with drums, percussion instruments and other very loud instruments, such as trumpets. It has a maximum SPL of 152 dB before clipping. (Available Q4 2025).
You can purchase a single 4099 microphone or a microphone with a special instrument clip. Alternatively, you can opt for a kit designed specifically for rock or classical applications. These kits are available as 4- and 10-piece sets, complete with the necessary adapters, clips, and cables. This allows you to set up your stage in no time.
Accordion
With this microphone solution, a high level of isolation can be achieved on stage. It also delivers a clear and transparent stereo sound with realistic dynamics. The comprehensive system consists of a pair of 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL, selected for their sensitivity within ±1.5 dB. The two included microphone mounts (A-CLIP) can be firmly attached to the instrument with screws.
Bass
The 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL is the perfect microphone solution for PA amplification and live recording of acoustic double basses. The sound is much more natural than with an internal microphone or a pickup. There are some excellent positioning options on the instrument. The microphone and its holder (BC4099) have been specially developed for double basses and are perfectly matched to them. This ensures the best results in terms of mounting and sound reinforcement during live performances. The microphone holder is attached to the E and G strings under the bridge. This places the microphone in the sweet spot between the bridge and the fingerboard.
Cello
Choose the 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL for perfect PA amplification and live cello recordings. This contains a mount (C-CLIP) that has been carefully designed for cellos. The sound is much more natural than with an internal microphone or a pickup. The microphone holder is attached to the C and A strings under the bridge. This places the microphone capsule in the sweet spot between the bridge and the fingerboard, providing a unique combination of natural string sound and high audio separation on stage.
Guitar
The 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL is perfect for PA amplification and live recording of acoustic guitar, mandolin, ukulele and dobro. It offers virtually unlimited positioning possibilities via the GC4099 guitar clip. The sound is much more natural than with an internal microphone or recording. The microphone is suitable for instruments with a body depth between 35 mm and 122 mm. Users will be amazed at how gently this condenser microphone can be attached. It is elegant, lightweight, discreet and designed so that it does not get in the way during a stage performance. The mounting mechanism makes it easy to switch the microphone between instruments with one hand.
Piano
With this microphone solution, a high level of isolation can be achieved on stage. It also delivers a clear and transparent stereo sound with realistic dynamics. The complete system consists of a pair of 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL, selected for their sensitivity within ±1.5 dB. It also includes two versatile magnetic mounts (P-CLIP) that enable stable and reproducible positioning.
Clamp Mount
The 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL with clamp mount has a flexible mount that is easy to use and quick to remove. Thanks to the strong spring, the holder (CM-CLIP) can be attached to various surfaces and instruments, such as saxophones and other brass instruments.
Universal Mount
The 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL is adapted to the unique mounting challenges of narrow and unusually shaped instruments. The microphone holder (U-CLIP) is equipped with a Velcro strap and can therefore be adapted to instruments of different sizes and diameters, for example oboe, clarinet, bassoon, recorder and flute. The fastening strap fits snugly around the instrument, similar to a wristwatch on the arm. For instruments with a larger diameter, additional fastening straps can easily be attached to adjust the holder. The microphone is light and discreet and does not get in the way during stage performances. This is made possible by a revolutionary 90° system that offers a wide range of mounting options. If the mount is removed from the gooseneck, rotated 90° and remounted, the number of microphone positions doubles.
SaxofonSaxophone
The 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL is perfect for all saxophones: Soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. It also sounds excellent on the bass clarinet. The versatile mount (STC4099) can be used for all saxophone types as well as brass instruments. Users will be delighted with how gently this condenser microphone can be attached. It is elegant, lightweight, discreetly designed and does not interfere with a stage performance. Thanks to the mounting mechanism, the microphone can be easily switched between instruments with one hand.
Drum
The 4099 CORE+ Extreme SPL perfectly captures the booming sounds of percussion instruments. The microphone can be easily positioned and thus adapted to different percussion instruments. The flexible gooseneck can be positioned at different angles, allowing for different sound nuances. The microphone is elegant, lightweight, discreet and designed so that it does not get in the way during a stage performance.
The mounting mechanism makes it easy to switch the microphone between instruments. The D-CLIP for drums includes a revolutionary 90° system that offers numerous mounting options.
Removing the mount from the gooseneck, rotating it 90° and remounting it doubles the number of microphone positions. This microphone can be easily combined with numerous accessories. The VC4099 mount fits perfectly on the edge of the bass drum.
Stand Mount
The 4099 is often attached directly to an instrument. However, many users have asked for a solution in which the microphone is attached to a normal microphone stand. Et voilá: Combine the 4099 CORE+ Loud SPL with the stand holder (MS-CLIP).
This holder can be used on both 3/8" and 5/8" threads thanks to an included insert. The design of the holder makes it quick and easy to insert and remove the microphone. In addition, the holder can be rotated so that the microphone is oriented vertically or horizontally.
Brass
The 4099 CORE Extreme SPL is perfect for trumpet, trombone and other brass instruments that can be very loud. It can be used with or without a mute. The microphone easily handles even the highest sound pressure levels (SPL) and is simply attached with the STC4099 saxophone and trumpet clip.
